Landbauforschung – Journal of Sustainable and Organic Agriculture  is a peer-reviewed,  open access journal of the Julius Kühn-Institut, focussing on new developments towards sustainable agriculture. Announcement of publisher change

Landbauforschung has a long history of publishing in the field of agriculture. Its first issue was published in 1951 by the Federal Agricultural Research Centre (FAL) Braunschweig-Völkenrode, Germany. Over the years, the journal has undergone several changes, including becoming fully English, adopting online diamond open access with CC-BY 4.0 license, and implementing double-blind peer review.
After 71 years, the Julius Kühn Institute has taken over responsibility for Landbauforschung from the Thünen Institute of Organic Farming and has integrated the journal into its not-for-profit infrastructure for scholar-led publishing. The focus of the journal will be sharpened to address questions along the production chain of plant products, as well as problems such as biodiversity loss, soil degradation, water scarcity, and environmental pollution. We will continue the vision of the Landbauforschung to promote the development of agriculture and ultimately help to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the United Nations’ Agenda 2030.
As we begin this new chapter, we invite you to join us and continue to contribute.
